Biography Of Narendra Modi

Born on 17 September, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, Narendra Modi became the youngest state chief minister of Gujarat at the age of 38 when he was elected in 2001. He is married to Jashodaben and has two daughters and a son.

Early life and education

Narendra Damodardas Modi, commonly referred to as Narendra Modi (born 17 September 1950), is an Indian politician who served as the 14th Prime Minister of India from 2014 to 2019. He was the second longest-serving prime minister after Jawaharlal Nehru and is one of only three prime ministers in history to have completed a full five-year term. A member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he has been criticised for his economic policies.

Personal life and marriage

Modi was married to Jashodaben in 1968. He was not allowed to have any children by her, as she is a practicing Hindu and believed that it is a sin for him to do so.

In 1986, he married again but this time he divorced her three years later due to differences with his family members over political issues. He did not remarry after his divorce from Jashodaben because of his religious beliefs.

Narendra Modi has never been divorced or remarried since then and has no plans on doing so in future either!

Political career

Narendra Modi was born in 1950, the son of a merchant family in Vadnagar. He graduated from Dineshwar High School in Vadnagar and subsequently from DAV College at Rajkot (Gujarat), where he studied law. In 1974, he began working with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader LK Advani as his personal secretary before founding his own political party: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).

In 2001, Modi became chief minister of Gujarat for two terms; this made him India's longest-serving state chief minister since Independence.[1] In 2014 elections for Lok Sabha seats held during April-May that year, BJP won 99 seats out of 182 contested by them against Congress' 71 seats.[2][3] In October 2014 elections to state assemblies held on 27 December 2013[4][5], BJP managed to win 182 out of 230 assembly segments while its allies such as Apna Dal won 5 seats each.[6][7][8]

Narendra Modi was born on 17 September 1950 in Vadnagar, a town in Mehasana district of Gujarat state. His father was a schoolteacher and his mother ran an embroidery shop. He studied at St Xavier's High School, Ahmedabad until tenth grade when he moved to Delhi for college education. He graduated from Delhi University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics (BSC) in 1972 before moving back to Gujarat to work as a full-time volunteer for Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).

In 1975, Narendra Modi joined the RSS where he worked as an active member until 1998 when he became its national president.
